Three questions to the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
Finding the right balance between consistency and adaptability. The Lotus product has a Clinical-facing and a Parental-facing application, so we had to keep in mind that we were designing for users with completely different backgrounds, expectations, and needs – but at the end, everything should come together as a consistent and fully harmonized solution. Also making sure clinical voices were heard over preconceived notions of what “works”.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
One of the highlights was being able to work across different disciplines to bring all the different viewpoint together to create the concept; working with our in-house clinical expert led to many “aha” moments which help shaped the concept. The low point was the hyper accelerated schedule and technology decisions that limited the scope of what we could achieve.
Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In the next five years we seek to see the Lotus solution implemented in hospitals around the world revolutionizing the way clinicians and families work together to heal vulnerable neonates.
