In cooperation with intralogistic supplier Jungheinrich, Zühlke has developed an experience prototype for an augmented repair app. Using the CAD data of a forklift truck (FLT), Zühlke created a “Digital Twin” and laid it over an FLT in need of repairs. The HoloRepair app visually guides service technicians through the repair process offering images and animations for each and every step as well as gesture and voice control to navigate. Afterwards, the completed work can be confirmed via checklist.

User Experience

HoloRepair guides service technicians through an augmented repair process. This success was especially made possible through close collaboration with users, an iterative observation process, the Wizard-of-Oz method, and various usability tests. The app is characterized by the combination of real and virtual elements. The inter-play of animations, gestures, language and sounds is nothing short of extraordinary. HoloRepair merges digital checklists and step-by-step instructions into a mixed reality environment. The optimal user experience backs up knowledge- and quality standards during the entire service process.
