Diia App
In this Deep Dive Slava Banik, Head of e-services development at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, and Volodymyr Smyrnov, Design Director and Partner at Spiilka Design, will walk us through the award-winning Diia App, which was granted a special mention in the UX Design Award in 2023.
About the Project: Diia App
UX Design Award | Special Mention 2023
Diia is an e-government app from Ukraine. It enables citizens to use digital documents in their smartphones instead of physical ones for purposes of identification and sharing. It also offers comprehensive access to public services such as tax payments, payment of fines, polls, social payments from the state, proper user assignment, donation to support the Ukrainian army and registration of their place of residence.
UXDA Jury members Amber Lundy and Oliver Kulpi:
»Connecting citizens to government services is complex and often bureaucratic. Few countries successfully deliver services digitally. The Diia App intrigued the jury as a potential blueprint for how this might be done in the future. Today Diia serves 19 million Ukrainians, and it will soon address Estonians. Though not planned for, this tool has also been of invaluable assistance to the population even in times of war.«
