Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
One of the main challenges of the project was the unification of several applications for Asian, European, and US markets. The goal was to combine the functionality of three applications into one global application with the ability to enable required features for users from different countries depending on use cases and local rules. To address the scattered UX complexity present across multiple MG apps, our team developed a unified app using a modular approach. This design empowers users to customize features according to their location, specific vehicle model and needs, delivering a personalized experience.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
While working on the design of the application, our goal was to make the interaction with the car as intuitive as possible and similar to everyday experience. At some point, we realized that the best approach would be to incorporate a car model into the app, allowing users to perform basic actions just as they would in real life. Another aha!-moment occurred when we realized that we should pay attention not only to car owners but also to potential customers who haven't yet purchased a car. Now people can explore the full functionality of the application, schedule a test drive, and even book their desired car.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
Through this redesign, we are providing an enhanced service, granting users instant access to crucial vehicle data and the ability to remotely control their cars. This creates a more connected and seamless experience, integrating with most-used devices, which is one of the most sought-after directions in the future. We have taken on the responsibility of enhancing user awareness and promoting safer driving practices by seamlessly integrating MG's community insights and smart drive data into our app. Aiming to revolutionize user interaction with vehicles and driving information, the following approaches embody our commitment to a smarter, safer driving experience and align with our vision for a sustainable automotive future.
