Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
In developing Sitenna, we navigated the absence of similar B2B solutions in the market. This led us to deeply research and integrate insights from various apps, each addressing only small parts of the larger problem we aimed to solve. Crafting Sitenna’s workflows was particularly complicated due to the multimodal and multi-step nature of the journey from site search to contract signing. This complexity was compounded by the need for interactions across different user roles and further interdependencies between them. Another layer of complexity involved automating and digitizing traditionally manual processes, like phone conversations and paper documentation, transforming them into a streamlined, digital user experience.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
One standout moment in our journey was when we reimagined a module's design. Initially, the task seemed straightforward. However, by blending domain experts' insights with my initial design concept, we transitioned to a solution that was not only technically simpler but also more impactful. This approach saved significant time and resources and led us to explore and implement even broader possibilities. On the challenging side, while user engagement has been positive, fully understanding the interactions with certain aspects of the software remained tricky due to the sensitive nature of the data involved. Our focus has been on striking the right balance between gaining valuable insights and respecting user privacy.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
I see Sitenna and myself growing together! Having been selected as the leading software for a UK government project, Sitenna is now set to expand its reach into various markets. So, the designer's role will be to keep the product at the forefront from the UX point of view, using insights from our diverse user base. Operating as both a marketplace and a B2B solution, Sitenna presents opportunities to harness these insights to continually refine and enhance the platform, tailoring features to meet the unique needs of each market segment. By staying connected to users and the industry, and adapting swiftly to changes, we aim to explore new business opportunities and provide more customized solutions, keeping the product as a go-to solution.
