Three questions for the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
Deciding on the Topic: We spent nearly two weeks determining the app's focus, aiming to create something special and useful. Intense brainstorming and user research sessions helped us narrow down the most impactful idea.

Integrating AI: Given AI's popularity, we explored how to incorporate it effectively into our project. This required careful planning to ensure seamless, beneficial functionality that felt intuitive and added genuine value, rather than appearing as a gimmick.

Analyzing Competitors: We invested time in studying other apps to identify ways to make ours stand out. This involved comprehensive competitive analysis to offer unique, personalized features, ensuring a distinct user experience that differentiated our app from others.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
In our journey developing Azi, we've experienced many 'aha' moments aimed at reducing users' cognitive load. One pivotal breakthrough was realizing Azi's potential to predict users' destinations before they input them, streamlining scheduling conflicts. Equally transformative was seamlessly integrating Canvas for automated assignment imports, simplifying task management for students. However, developing the period protection feature posed challenges in usability. Transitioning this feature from a Monthly to Weekly Calendar View and introducing time slot recommendations were crucial steps in refining functionality. These innovations highlight our commitment to enhancing productivity and convenience for university students.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In the next five years, Azi plans to become indispensable for university students globally. Initially, we will focus on refining our algorithms and integrating with systems like Canvas to ensure a seamless user experience. By year three, we aim to expand to colleges across the US, offering workshops and introducing new features such as mental health tracking to support student well-being. Our ultimate goal is to establish Azi as a global standard in higher education. To achieve this, we will adapt to diverse educational needs, continuously innovate, and form strategic partnerships, enhancing student life worldwide.
