Three questions for the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
Dell has a wide range of users, from individual consumers to enterprise customers, including those seeking a partnership in growing or scaling their own business with Dell products and solutions. Creating a homepage that serves such a diverse base presented a unique set of problems.

Users must experience smooth navigation from the homepage to relevant information and content specific to their needs and purchase objectives. To overcome unique challenges in growing their businesses with technology, customers must understand and align their myriad use cases with the many offerings presented. Our ability to connect specific customer use cases with the right solutions and products determines success in providing superior user experiences.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
Conducting extensive interviews with diverse groups of customers and business stakeholders during the discovery phase led the team to think deeply about the true purpose and role of the homepage. This helped to orchestrate a coherent operational roadmap and spurred a more strategic design approach for the solutions.

Dell.com homepage role:

  1. Inspire everyone to discover, learn about, buy, and use technology to unlock their full potential.
  2. Effectively communicate that Dell Technologies provides complete E2E technology that drives human progress.
  3. Create a clear entry path for each target audience to guide their journey.
Our Voice-of-Customer insights and revenue increase were the a-ha moments vs previous site/revenue metrics.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
As the company continues to grow and serve as a global leader in technology, the Dell.com homepage will introduce innovative technologies to unlock humanity’s full potential and grow our vision together to drive human progress.

AI is at the forefront of the next phase of this acceleration, and my focus is to continue innovating UX research and vision to support the expansion and implementation an open ecosystem of AI technology partners, expert AI services, and best practices, enabling Dell Technologies to deliver tailored enterprise-grade AI solutions.
