Three questions for the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
Our goal with Knox Manage is to create a product suitable for both large enterprises and small to medium businesses (SMBs). However, due to its complexity, feature descriptions may seem convoluted and technical. It was crucial for us to simplify the language while maintaining accuracy, ensuring that IT admins with varying levels of experience could understand.

Furthermore, we aimed to strike a balance between designing specific features and considering the broader user experience. As we anticipate expanding the product's functionality in the coming years, it was challenging to develop a future-proof solution that could grow and scale over time.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
During the early stages of user testing, we identified two noteworthy findings. First, IT administrators appreciated having the freedom to explore during the onboarding process. Second, they frequently kept our technical documentation open throughout this initial exploration. These discoveries were significant, as they provided clear guidance on enhancing the first-time user's experience.

Building upon these insights, we redesigned the onboarding process to offer greater flexibility, allowing users to choose which steps or features to explore initially. Additionally, we improved accessibility to documentation directly from the console's dashboard.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
We see Knox Manage as a product with tremendous growth potential, particularly within the next five years. We have numerous features and capabilities planned for integration. For instance, we believe the console can expand to offer more powerful and granular controls, catering to the precise needs of both SMBs and larger enterprises. By doing so, we aim to provide more tailored functionalities that address their specific needs.
