Three questions for the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
As we identified and validated the core solution for the app, we tried to design a UX that was very specific to our target audience. During the project's research, we discovered that people with ADHD more often seek out activities or situations that provide high stimulation, have a high sensitivity to boredom, and find it difficult to stay focused when they are bored. Starting with this as a key insight, we struggled to find features that would help users complete their to-do list while keeping them entertained and stimulated. We came up with the idea of using graphical elements, AI text generated in real-time, and motion interactions, which became the app's hooking-point to help people with ADHD manage their schedules and stay on track.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
While we were designing a service for individuals with ADHD, we realized that we were often thinking from a non-ADHD perspective since we don’t have ADHD ourselves. For example, we thought we had broken down the tasks sufficiently, but for people with ADHD, lower-level tasks were still too broad and difficult. We received detailed feedback from them to refine our UX and validate our hypothesis. We made efforts to continually think from their perspective and empathize with their experiences as we developed the service. Through the process, we sometimes had to completely change our design and user flow due to unexpected user test results. However, through this valuable experience, we were able to grow as a user-oriented designer.
Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
This project was carried out by two designers. Due to limited time and resources, we were unable to complete it until the actual development phase. In the future, we plan to collaborate with developers to implement the service and gather user feedback. Our goal is not to stop at the prototype but to provide a practical service for people with ADHD, helping to alleviate daily inconveniences and improve their quality of life through our design. We aspire to become designers who continuously refine our service based on user feedback, and incorporate the voices of our users.
