Three questions for the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
In addition to enhancing reading and comprehension, designing for individuals with dyslexia requires attention to their emotional well-being. Many have lived with dyslexia for a long time and face related mental health challenges. To create a supportive environment, we involved their loved ones in conversations. This presence helps alleviate anxiety and encourages users to express their genuine thoughts and experiences, including embarrassing moments. By understanding these personal stories, we design solutions that provide both functional and emotional support, empowering users and improving their quality of life.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
After conducting a benchmarking study, we discovered that many products on the market already assist the dyslexic population with reading, but they often lack user convenience. We faced a moment of doubt, considering the possibility that a 'one size fits all' solution might not exist. However, after in-depth internal discussions, we identified new opportunities empowered by emerging technologies. We realized that integrating AR and AI would perfectly meet the dyslexic population's need for personalization and convenience.
Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
For the next five years, the development of AI will enable highly personalized reading assistance, adapting to the specific needs of each user based on their reading habits and progress. Machine learning algorithms will provide instant feedback and suggestions to improve understanding. Additionally, with AI's memory capabilities, the system can retain all the materials the user has seen, aiding in better memorization and comprehension.
