Three questions for the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
This project was developed over a three-week module during my first semester of my master's program. The primary UX challenge was determining the number of interfaces required to effectively cater to diverse user groups—students, mentors, and schools—while maintaining simplicity and clarity. Additionally, integrating AI to suggest relevant information to users necessitated understanding human psychology. This insight led to the creation of five key questions for profile building, ensuring the platform accurately reflects users' passions and skills. Making these questions user-friendly and engaging was crucial to prevent disinterest during the sign-up process, ensuring the primary users remain motivated and invested.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
My personal highlight in the development process was fostering meaningful interactions between students, parents, and industry professionals. The 'aha!' moment came when I thought of a feature that allowed mentors to recommend other mentors to students based on their skills, creating a robust network of guidance and support. This feature aims to reduce the stigma of unconventional careers in India. The low point was grappling with the challenge of creating an interface that was both comprehensive and user-friendly. It took several iterations to strike the right balance, ensuring the platform was accessible to users from diverse backgrounds while providing a seamless experience.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In the next five years, I envision Oddyssey becoming a leading platform for career guidance in India, empowering students to explore diverse career paths beyond traditional choices like NEET and JEE. My goal is to develop a mock version of the platform, conduct extensive user testing, and identify areas for improvement. I aim to ensure the platform remains free of cost, making it accessible to students from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Additionally, I plan to incorporate more languages to reach rural areas across the country. Once I feel the platform is ready, I aspire to establish Oddyssey as a recognized brand that redefines career choices in India, helping students discover their true passions and potential.
