Three questions for the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
The main task was to capture the entire user journey of this niche product, balcony power plants, through user research, because there is still limited information about the target group, their behavior, needs, and problems. The research involved conducting many interviews with stakeholders, including hobbyists who built their own systems and users of purchased systems, as well as employing various design methods to identify optimization opportunities for a digital solution. Subsequently, the focus was on prioritizing the most promising solutions, with a MoSCoW prioritization and an innovation/functionality matrix proving particularly helpful in ensuring the greatest value for users and planning the implementation.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
My personal highlight and biggest challenge in the development process was the first user testing with a low-fidelity prototype. I received initial reactions from potential users, and while the feedback was mostly positive, it also revealed several areas that needed improvement, particularly in the overall app concept. The greatest challenge afterwards was to structure the overwhelming amount of collected input and partially overhaul the previously final concept.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
Currently, I want to gain initial experience in freelancing within the UX/UI field after my graduation. At the same time, I plan to join an agency at a later stage if it's a good fit, to be involved in the development of extensive digital products and to continue learning through teamwork and collaboration with various disciplines. I am also interested in finding companies that are keen to collaborate on bringing the app I developed for my bachelor's thesis to life. So hit me up if you are interested.
