Questions to the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
The main UX challenge was addressing the diverse and complex needs of Alzheimer’s caregivers, balancing the practical requirements of task management and resource delivery with the emotional needs for support and empathy. Family caregivers often lack formal training, while professional caregivers manage multiple patients under pressure, creating distinct challenges. Designing an intuitive, non-overwhelming interface that simplifies caregiving tasks and provides emotional support while catering to these varied user groups required iterative testing and continuous refinement based on feedback.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
A personal highlight was conducting co-creation workshops with caregivers and seeing their ideas and feedback shape the platform. The 'aha!' moment came during usability testing, when caregivers expressed how the platform made them feel seen and supported, affirming the value of our work. A low point was grappling with the emotional weight of their struggles, which underscored the importance of creating a solution that genuinely improves their lives.
