Three questions to the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
The particular challenge was creating an interface that is both intuitive and empowering for individuals with varying levels of digital literacy and health awareness. Simplifying the presentation of complex medical information, such as health metrics and medical history, into digestible formats like the timeline and anatomical views required careful consideration to avoid overwhelming users.
Another challenge was deciding which audience—patients, caregivers, or providers—to design for first. I chose to focus on the patient segment as they are the end-users whose experience drives overall engagement and adoption, making it critical to establish a strong foundation for the platform's usability and impact.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
One of the most rewarding moments during the design process was discovering how presenting medical history through both timeline and anatomical formats could genuinely enhance patients' understanding of their health. It was a pivotal realization that emphasized the power of empathetic design in making complex information clear and relatable.
Ensuring accessibility for users with diverse needs, such as visual impairments or limited tech skills, was a key challenge. While innovative solutions like intuitive navigation and customizable settings were implemented, I see this as an ongoing effort and will continue refining accessibility features to better serve all users.
Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In just a couple of years, I envision pitching this design and its ideas to hospitals, healthcare providers, and organizations developing similar tools. My goal is to contribute to transforming patient care by collaborating with industry leaders or driving this change directly. I aim to see these concepts implemented at scale, creating a tangible impact in making healthcare more accessible, efficient, and user-centered. Being part of this evolution would not only refine the project but also position me as an advocate for meaningful innovation in the healthcare industry.
