Three questions to the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
With our application, we are driving an industry standard in the organization at the same time we are delivering a tool for mass consumption. Not only does this require an understandable interface but the need to align a mental model across a matrixed organization. This means our UX needs to be enabling and informative as well as provide functional benefit to the user.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
Efforts made to improve the handover process and documentation between the design and development teams have resulted in incredible efficiency gains. Initially, we struggled to ensure all requirements were reflected in final deliverables. Moving to Jira to document, track and raise tickets has helped us transcend the challenges of working across perspectives.
Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
Our goal is to evolve our platform by integrating with customer data and providing insights in real time. Ideally, we hope Siemens sees the benefit in creating transparency through collaborative and enabling tooling that enable our employees to further invest and take personal ownership in the customer journey value chain.
