Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
The biggest UX challenge was to balance functionality and emotional experience. Many DCD users have faced negative experience during rehabilitation, making the interface too 'medical' could discourage them, but making it overly 'childish' would harm their self-esteem. Through multiple iterations, user interviews, and testing, I tried to create an interface that feels neutral, friendly, interesting, and gives users a sense of autonomy and progress.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
The 'aha' moment came when I received feedback from a test DCD-user who said, 'This feels more like a rhythm game than a rehab task. It makes me want to keep going.' That was the moment I knew I was on the right path, turning something traditionally frustrating into something playful and sustainable.
The hardest point came early in the project, when it was very difficult to find suitable interview and test participants, due to the unique nature of the target user group. It kept me awake at night for a while. After persistent effort, reaching out to many organizations and researchers, I was finally able to connect with volunteers. I am truly grateful for their support, without them, this project could not have moved forward.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In five years, I hope to further collaborate with medical professionals and therapists to refine the system. I would like to launch CoorFit as a product that supports both home users and rehabilitation centers. Personally, I hope to keep exploring how technology and design can empower people with disabilities, and to see more DCD users benefiting from better, more engaging rehabilitation experiences.
