Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
Our core challenge was bridging the gap between novice and intermediate traders. We engineered a solution that seamlessly integrates the complexities of trading, all while honouring diverse user mental models. The result is an experience that's both intuitive for beginners and robust enough for seasoned users. We achieved this through a strategic blend of minimalist interface design and a content strategy providing clear, non-invasive guidance tailored to all knowledge levels.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
The most pivotal insight came post-launch, when we observed a pattern that had been missed in smaller-scale usability tests: users were confused by the difference between fractional and whole shares. While internally we saw it as a simple backend distinction, users expected different behaviours. This realization became our turning point. It reframed our approach which pushed us to redesigned the experience to more clearly signal when users were trading in fractions, introducing contextual cues, microcopy, and safeguards to reduce costly errors. Despite tight timelines, this late-stage insight became our competitive edge, transforming a usability gap into a UX differentiator.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
This project represents a meaningful step toward a more inclusive and efficient trading experience. From a design perspective, it lays a scalable foundation for future enhancements while improving how users place trades; making it faster, simpler, and more intuitive. We’re committed to ongoing iteration, using user feedback and research to drive continuous improvement. This approach not only elevates the current experience but also sets a new standard for design-led development across our future FinTech initiatives.
