Three questions to the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
Our biggest UX challenge was introducing a completely new concept: automatic expense tracking via banking e-receipts—an approach most users had never seen before. We had to clearly communicate how and when MeowJot records data, striking the right balance between automation and transparency. The goal? Build trust without overwhelming users with technical details.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
A true highlight was seeing users shift from struggling with expense tracking to recording with ease. Our aha! moment came when they moved naturally to the next step—categorizing. What we feared might feel like extra effort turned out to be simple. Users described it as “just picking a category.” That small shift signaled a big leap in usability and user confidence.
Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In the next five years, we see MeowJot expanding its automation to cover all types of expenses and income—from mobile banking to credit cards and beyond—making logging truly effortless.
As users gain more insight into their finances, they start asking bigger questions like “How can I save more?” or “How can I splurge wisely?” We see MeowJot evolving into a trusted companion that guides users step-by-step—from financial beginners to confident individuals in control of their money.
