Three questions to the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
The main challenge was helping professionals recognize their growth. The team initially believed employees changed jobs due to a lack of growth. However, further research revealed that the real issue was a work environment that made it difficult for them to recognize their professional growth. To address this, the team made two key features that provide objective growth indicators: a peer feedback system to enhance year-end evaluations and a work archiving feature that leverages a task-tracking plugin to document professional progress. By integrating these features, AI-generated insights allow professionals to track their skill development. Usability testing confirmed these features could be a key to helping users feel their growth.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
The “Aha!” moment was realizing that the service was not just about building employee confidence, but also function as an efficient performance evaluation tool both within and beyond the company. Initially, the team positioned the platform as a B2B solution designed to support employee growth. However, through interviews with industry experts, the team received feedback that this solution could significantly streamline handover processes and enhance performance evaluations, making it beneficial not only for individuals but also at the organizational level. This insight was a breakthrough, prompting the team to explore secure data transfer solutions for inter-company information sharing and refine their B2B marketing strategies.
Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
This year, the team plans to hire developers and a product manager to establish the company and launch the MVP for market validation. The primary goal is to secure initial corporate clients while refining a financial strategy and strengthening a business model. Within three years, the team aims to enhance the beta version, ensuring full implementation of all planned features. By year five, the goal is to secure multiple enterprise contracts, establishing CareerUp as a leading B2B platform for performance evaluation and competency management. Ultimately, the mission is to help employees recognize their growth, enabling both individuals and businesses to focus on productivity and career development in a more effective work environment.
