Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
With innovative features such as remote item management, intelligent pet companionship, and a 3D cleaning system, the product’s intelligence and adaptability to different scenarios have been significantly enhanced. However, these cutting-edge technologies have inevitably increased functional complexity. Users need to invest time in learning the operational logic and how to interact with the robot vacuum, and may even need to adjust some of their usage habits. For users who prioritize out-of-the-box usability, this can create cognitive barriers and resistance to use. Striking a balance between feature innovation and user-friendly experiences remains an ongoing challenge in our UX design process.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
The core highlight of our product is the seamless integration of efficient cleaning and emotional companionship. It completely redefines the traditional robot vacuum, transforming it from a mere tool into a true “family companion” that pets can interact with. Our most exciting aha! moment came during testing, when a typically cautious cat suddenly leapt forward and pounced on the feather toy swinging from the robotic arm—rather than retreating as it usually would. That’s when we realized the robotic arm enabled a whole new kind of lively interaction. Robot vacuums are no longer “invaders” in a pet’s space, but potential playmates—friends pets can engage with. It’s a beautiful fusion of technology and emotional connection.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In the next five years, this product will evolve from a simple cleaning tool into a true member of the family. Through intelligent interaction, it will support multimodal control, combining voice commands, gestures, and contextual awareness. It will accurately understand complex instructions, anticipate user needs, and respond accordingly, marking a significant paradigm shift from simply cleaning the floor to automatically sorting items and caring about life. As for myself, I aim to continue refining my UX design skills, ensuring that users can enjoy the thoughtful, seamless service that advanced technology can provide.
