Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
A key UX challenge was turning financial data and loyalty mechanics into something people actually want to engage with. Instead of overwhelming users with numbers, we designed a journey where progress feels visible, rewards feel earned, and managing your card feels empowering. Every screen invites action without pressure. The interface celebrates small wins, a new tier, unlocked benefits, a sense of control. That emotional connection was the goal: to make users feel good, not just informed, and to build long-term engagement, not just short-term clicks.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
My personal highlight was seeing how early whiteboard scribbles turned into a live product that users genuinely loved, proven by a 4.9/5 rating in both app stores. But we hit a low when we realized how much work remained with just few weeks left. The turning point came when we faced UX friction with multi-card users; we paused, ran a focused workshop, and reshaped the experience. That moment reminded me: great UX isn’t about clean screens, it’s about clarity under pressure, removing ambiguity, and designing for how real people behave, not ideal personas.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In five years, we want Avantaj to be recognized as the global benchmark for credit card applications and a reference case for innovation from Romania. Our ambition is to expand into additional markets, enabling more people to benefit from an experience that combines clarity, motivation, and emotional engagement. We will continue to evolve the product through bi-weekly releases, guided by real user behavior and feedback, delivering value consistently rather than through occasional big launches.
