Three questions to the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
Our goal was to build a standalone banking app inside an e-commerce and instant-delivery platform. Instead of traditional banking patterns, we designed flows inspired by e-commerce. The main challenge was making financial transactions as simple as buying a product online, while preserving security and trust. Balancing ease and safety shaped the entire UX. User feedback showed that this warm, intuitive, lower-case, human tone truly differentiated us from conventional banking apps.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
Our low point became the turning point: after finishing the first version, we realised it felt too conventional, so we made the bold decision to scrap it and rebuild from scratch, delaying launch. The aha! moment came with the second version, which finally reflected our vision—simple, warm, almost e-commerce-like. Pilot users confirmed it: onboarding in seconds, ordering a card like a grocery item and receiving it in 10 minutes, sending money with a few taps. Their delight validated every hard choice.
Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In five years, we see GetirFinans as a leading digital bank with over 7 million engaged users and on track to become a regional unicorn. The product will evolve into a richer financial ecosystem, expanding to SMEs and adding features like stock trading, investment tools, and digital assets. From a UX lens, we aim to keep pioneering simplicity—making every financial action intuitive and human, and redefining how people interact with money.
