Three questions to the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
The main UX challenge was making an abstract digital concept like money feel tangible and engaging without adding complexity. We needed the interaction to be simple, intuitive, and playful, while still feeling trustworthy and meaningful. Balancing fun elements like sound and motion with clear financial feedback was difficult, especially ensuring users understood what was happening without relying too much on the app.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
Our personal highlight was seeing users react positively during testing, especially when they interacted with the pig’s sounds and movements. That was a clear aha-moment, showing that emotional feedback really mattered. A low point was realizing some early ideas were too complicated, but simplifying the interactions actually improved the experience and helped the concept feel stronger.
Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In five years, I see ourselves working as a designer focusing on meaningful, user-centered products that blend physical and digital experiences. For the project, PiggyPay could evolve into a real consumer product or inspire new ways of designing financial tools that are more emotional and human. Even if it stays conceptual, it represents an approach we want to continue exploring.
