This guided, non-linear storytelling strategy is geared towards care workers for people suffering from depression or dementia. Based on reminiscence therapy, Journey aims to revive positive memories through stimulating materials. Audio-visual stories may be adapted to patients’ individual interests even if they are not able to communicate their needs due to their disease. By way of eye-tracking, the software identifies images that appeal to patients, linking them to related content. The low-cost, opensource tool is effective and may be expanded through additional sensors.
