About the Project: HiMed Cockpit proX
Winner of the UX Design Award | Product 2026
Hospital patients are often tired, disoriented or in pain, while healthcare staff work under constant pressure. HiMed Cockpit proX was developed over three years in a user-centered process together with hospitals to support patients during their stay and reduce staff workload. The accessible bedside interface integrates information, communication, media and tasks into a guided flow, enabling patients to independently manage appointments, services and communication.
Jury Statement, UX Design Awards – Autumn 2026:
“Hospital patients are among the most vulnerable technology users. They may be in pain, exhausted, anxious, or unable to process complex information. More healthcare products should prioritize designing for them. This one does. Accessibility is the starting point, not an afterthought. Three years of research and validation in real hospital environments resulted in a calm, clear, and considered interface exactly when patients need it most. Designing for the most vulnerable is not charity. It's simply how healthcare should work.”
