Three questions for the project team
What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
One of the most significant UX challenges we faced was ensuring the app was both intuitive and emotionally supportive for parents who might be technologically inexperienced or overwhelmed by their daily responsibilities. We needed to create a seamless user experience that reduced cognitive load and provided immediate value, without adding to their stress. This involved extensive user testing and iterations to simplify navigation, ensure accessibility, and provide clear, empathetic communication throughout the app. We also had to carefully design the visual elements to be soothing and encouraging, striking a balance between informative content and emotional support.
What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
The personal highlight was the user feedback sessions. Hearing how our app concept resonated with parents of autistic children was incredibly rewarding. One parent shared that the 24/7 help center gave her a sense of security and hope, validating our approach.
A low point was during prototyping when our initial designs were too complex, overwhelming test users. Through iterative design and feedback, we simplified the interface, making it more intuitive. This challenge reinforced our commitment to user-centered design and showcased our ability to create impactful, user-friendly products.
Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In the next five years, I see our app becoming essential for parents of autistic children, known for its practicality and emotional support. We aim to reach a broader audience by enhancing features based on user feedback and incorporating AI-driven personalized support.
I envision leading a dedicated team focused on refining user experience and expanding our app's capabilities. We plan to participate in industry competitions to showcase our work and attract partnerships and funding.
Our goal is to make our app a trusted resource, providing essential support and community, and setting a new standard in parental support for children with autism.
