Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
Many elderly people struggle with tracking their health conditions because most healthcare services are online. They need tools that are easier to use and supportive environments that allow them to live independently and focus on what matters to them. Selecting the right tools and technologies for our project, with the latest AI models, were difficult to identify which data to use, where to source it, and how to process it responsibly while addressing privacy concerns. During user testing, we found it hard to create a voice assistant that felt personalized and suitable for everyone (speed and tone). Lastly, many elderly users are hesitant to adopt new technology, making trust and usability key focuses in our design process.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
During the design phase, we often felt uncertain about whether our target audience would find our product usable or too challenging. The low point came from this fear of potential rejection. However, our aha! moment arrived during user testing. We received encouraging feedback highlighting the project’s potential. Users, who usually avoid digital technologies for managing health data, appreciated our design's large buttons, clear text, and streamlined user journey. These elements made tasks easier to complete, and achieving this success left users feeling satisfied and even proud of themselves. Seeing this impact was a rewarding highlight of the development process.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
Even if Plus is just at its first stages, we believe if we are able take it further it will surely bring on the table new opportunities, not only for older people and their families, but also for societies as a whole. Additional years provide the chance to pursue new activities such as further education, a new career or a long-neglected passion. Older people also contribute in many ways to their families and communities.
Plus can be a good assistant for sustaining healthcare system, it will become a bring that connect people and community.
Plus is about, in step together, leaving no one behind.
