Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
The biggest UX challenge in this project was designing educational content that genuinely meets the needs of our target audience. We conducted research to identify the financial concepts that college students and young professionals either want to learn, are lacking, or don’t yet realize they need. Our goal was to deliver meaningful learning through a relaxed and pressure-free board game experience, breaking away from traditional, boring educational methods. Achieving this required careful design to ensure that learning felt like a natural part of the game rather than a forced process.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
One of the most rewarding highlights for me was some enthusiastic participants invented innovative ideas that didn’t break the rules but helped them think deeply about their financial planning to win the game. It showed that the game truly encouraged thoughtful engagement. On the other hand, a low point came when we struggled with how to incorporate insurance usage. We wanted players to voluntarily use insurance to manage risk, mimicking real-life decision-making. However, our early designs didn’t motivate this behavior. After much trial and error, we finally increased the benefits of insurance within the game, which successfully encouraged players to analyze risks and act accordingly. It was a tough but enlightening process.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
In the next five years, we aim to continuously refine our game rules and educational content to improve learning outcomes. Our vision is for players to gain valuable financial knowledge while enjoying the game. We plan to collaborate with university clubs, training ambassadors and instructors to promote the game through campus activities. By gradually integrating the game into student life, we hope to reach our target audience more effectively and help address their real financial education needs.
