The aim was to develop a banking app that customers truly enjoy, an app for today’s zeitgeist and digital mindset. User experience and sophisticated design are key elements in successful general interest apps. Yet banking apps have long ignored a desire for simplicity, aesthetic appeal and convenience. A banking app does not need a quadratic layout. The Deutsche Bank Mobile app uses the smartphone’s strengths to implement good UI / UX and innovative functions, proving that banking can be smart. As a result, Deutsche Bank Mobile became the first banking app to receive the Red Dot Design Award.
