The Smart Learning Lamp

The “Smart Learning Lamp” creates a mixed-reality environment that brings together the advantages of both physical and virtual environments. It improves the students’ exploration of STEM subjects. It uses a projector, a camera and a micro-controller embedded inside a physical table lamp, in combination with paper cut-outs that act as controllers in various experiments. The camera allows a machine learning algorithm to recognize the paper cut-outs and to project an environment accordingly.
