Handhelp - No more faceless charity

»This project applies the commercial model of a multi-sided platform for charity in a clever way. The jury appreciated the fact that it could work on a system level, including not only people who give and receive, but also local sellers, so the money stays in the community. But this also raises the question how this could scale: by integrating the solution in existing shopping communities or platforms? Furthermore, the jury had some doubts whether beneficiaries would appreciate creating public profiles with own images. Poverty still makes people feel ashamed, so the jury recommends a more subtle approach to enhance acceptance.«
