Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
The core challenge was transforming a data-rich logistics platform with robust AI capabilities into an intuitive, user-friendly experience without compromising its powerful functionality. We needed to empower users to make complex supply chain decisions while significantly reducing their cognitive load. The existing platform contained valuable insights, but they weren't easily discoverable or actionable. We had to carefully balance maintaining the depth of analytics while creating clear, guided paths to help users find and act on critical information. This required close collaboration with the client’s technical teams to ensure our solutions could be implemented within their existing architecture while still delivering the transformative experience we envisioned.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
Our defining aha-moment came during our two-day collaborative workshop when we shifted our focus from surface-level UI improvements to fundamentally rethinking how users interact with logistics data. We were aiming to create not just a tool, but a true command center for Sifted’s clients. We realized that by centering the experience around the Sifted Score and making critical metrics immediately visible, we could transform how users make decisions. The early challenge was convincing stakeholders to embrace this more ambitious vision, but seeing users' immediate positive response to features like the carrier comparison and package modeling validated our approach. By improving the navigation framework and creating a holistic dashboard we struck the right balance between sophistication and usability.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
Looking ahead, we've established a strong foundation for Sifted to evolve alongside the rapidly changing logistics industry. The platform's AI-driven architecture and user-centric design position it perfectly to incorporate emerging technologies while maintaining its intuitive user experience. We anticipate the platform will continue to reduce dependency on external consultants, democratizing access to sophisticated supply chain optimization tools for businesses of all sizes. The modular design approach we implemented ensures the platform can easily adapt to new features and capabilities, while the focus on sustainability through network optimization and package modeling aligns with growing industry demands for environmentally conscious solutions. Based on the overwhelmingly positive user feedback and the platform's demonstrated ability to drive measurable cost savings, we're confident Sifted will continue to set new standards in logistics intelligence platforms.
