Three questions to the project team

What was the particular challenge of the project from a UX point of view?
As we were scaling the design system for DEEP Projects, product fragmentation was occurring naturally across the platform areas built by community devs and designers. Our design challenge: HOW DO WE guide these large community-led (& mixed-skilled) groups to build cohesive UX in all of the products without becoming design dictators? Essentially, we crafted a UX design culture for DEEP as a tactic and true north goal. With design system sharing, open discussions, empathy (via listening), and mentoring, the community of devs and designers were learning and iterating from our work with DEEP Projects instead of working in silos. This encouraged community groups to evolve their skills upward while adding value to DEEP ecosystem as they grew.

What was your personal highlight in the development process? Was there an aha!-moment, was there a low point?
Our highlight as designers was learning how to create a connected UX design culture for internal and community groups contributing to DEEP (actually very hard and complex). The aha! moment was finding a catalyst to help speed this up with a positive impact. The catalyst for this project was creating a UX-focused rebranding of DEEP. This led us to create product-centric branding from the ground up, along with UX design patterns/flows that connected the DEEP brand with the product design. This solved the product fragmentation and brought the community closer to the core user (builder) base of DEEP. The community groups loved the designs and immediately understood the why, how, and what to do next without us explaining it.

Where do you see yourself and the project in the next five years?
“Let it go. Let it grow.”… is my mantra for this project and my internal design team. We are not here to make a forever project for ourselves. DEEP is a global decentralized AI & AGI community platform. As such, our UX goals and principles are to create initial design frameworks, assets, flows, and processes (for both Web2 & Web3) that can scale, evolve, and be flexible so that DEEP, in the near future, can be easily managed and controlled by the community autonomously. Many AI layers (+agents) are being designed into the platform, which will help the community continue to grow the platform of builders in a transparent, fair, beneficial, and decentralized way. We are pretty close to achieving that event horizon, which is very exciting.
